Join us for an evening of nibbles and drinks with bayside photographer and writer, Fiona Basile, as she unpacks the stories and photography behind her latest book, The Next Wave.
The Next Wave is the sequel to Fiona Basile’s internationally award-winning book Immerse. It celebrates the growth and diversity of an open water swimming community in bayside Melbourne. Through stunning photography and intimate reflections, she captures the joy, resilience, and friendships forged in the sea. Thirty-six swimmers share how the water heals, challenges, and transforms them, offering stories of hope, courage, wonder, and gratitude.
During this intimate evening, Fiona will share her own photographic journey, how she created the book, and how the pages honour both the ordinary and extraordinary moments of life in and by the ocean, revealing the strength of community and the beauty of connection. Get ready to be inspired by stunning photography, and raw and moving stories!
