My friend and I were in one 4WD, while a group of others joined in their own vehicles, which included two 2WD cars and a motorbike! I visited Lake Eyre in the South Australian Outback while en route to commence the Canning Stock Route (from Wiluna in Western Australia to Halls Creek in the Northern Territory) some years ago. This natural salt lake, which is the biggest in Australia, stretches about 144km x 77km. It is a natural wonder and beauty, made even more so when storm clouds are passing over.
